Attended Drama school in Triest
I like coffee, but it’s tea I like the most.
Tea leaves revealing fate, jasmine flowers smelling of life, blooming flowers, blushing roses, timid flowers and small leaves.
I love clouds, those up there, the farthest away.
In Trieste they used to call me ‘the Italian’. This way they uncovered my other side, the one which dwells deep inside me.
I was nearly twenty and it seemed strange to me that they did not know their other sides.
I was Janis Joplin, because I give everyone a piece of my heart. I am the bride, the singer of enchantment.
I was the descant, the white nights and the dark days.
I was the sun and the moon, the poem and the dissimulation.
I am the mask of metaphor.
On the edge of hyper-reality, I am the tightrope walker; my name is Fly or Die.
Now that time breaks at the sound of my voice and turns into everything and is always NOW, I know.
I know that
‘I am the one I love
If you look at me you look at him
If you look at him you look at us.
The hand takes me
The eye looks at me’
And the double bass is my heart.
I adore the sea.
Bitter is the sea.
The sea runs through my veins; the storms, the exhausting calmness of the sea and the salty winds which stir me all plunge into me.
I’m the little girl in the cradle of the waves who is attracted by the tenderly ruthless beings that live where the undertow ends,
shapes in the shade amidst the nets spread out in the sun.
The cries and the shouts of the fish market quiver and shriek in me;
the charming sounds of the voices seduce and charm me with their heart-rending beauty.
Beyond stand the gates of the world whose sewers I know.
I cleaned the floors of filthy restaurants and I drunk vodka till I fell into a stupor, but it is in squats that I contemplated jazz.
Within the supernatural truth I sunk into the harmony of the world. In midsummer nights I flirted with the rhythm of the undertow.
I have seen Adriatic dawns, I have laughed and cried.
I would like to give everyone a breath of my soul. And why not?
My thoughts wander in harmony and smile whilst joking.
On the edge of a dream, on a transfiguring flight, I am the enchantment of the gliding spirals. I am the voice and the regret of the guitar in the wind.
While vibrating, my voice discloses the mercury of mirrors. I see through them.
And through them, I will be caught by a glance once we are alone but together right there, where the wind ends.
Wrapped by the scent of basil, I feel my tears, which are dewdrops, fall on a leaf…
My thoughts wander about in harmony and smile whilst joking when the dewdrop slips on the basil leaf and drops into the bright sea.
Yes.
Come with me, I’ll tell you a fairy tale.
